Three MAP North Members Selected to 2017 Hockey Select National Development Camp

Last year there was one, this year three. MAP North Members Ethan Haider, Nate Thelen, and Brady Meyer have had quite the spring so far. All three performed extremely well among their peers and were selected to the 16’s (Haider and Thelen) and 17’s (Meyer), 2017 USA Hockey Boys Select National Development Camp. MAP North Player Spotlight: Chris Kernan

Our MAP North Spotlight Player for the Month of April is member Chris Kernan. Chris started with us last year with our Futures Program and he’s back and ready to take his game to another level. As a first year Bantam, Chris made the Osseo/Maple Grove Bantam AA team and helped lead the team back to state finishing second. The year before he was part of the Pee Wee team that won it. MAP North Player Spotlight: Brady Swanstrom

What is something that Bobby Clarke, Max Domi, and Brady Swanstrom have in common? All three have Type 1 Diabetes and excel at the sport they love. This year Brady, aka Swanny, lead Champlin Park’s Varsity team with 18 goals; doubling his goals from last year. Creighton McMahon had a very good year in his first varsity season. The sophomore tied for the lead in goals with 18 goals and added 13 assists with the Spring Lake Park Panthers. Creighton started with us as a Tier 1 (1st year bantam). MAP North Player Spotlight: Sam Hentges

Sam Hentges is quietly having a very good senior year. In 13 games he is leading the Totino Grace Eagles with 21 goals and 11 assists. The 21 goals is tied for 6th in goal scoring for the whole Minnesota State High School Hockey League.
